Description

Dying Pergamenta to create Black Hours appear in the late medieval early renaissance and are known for having striking vibrance on black dyed pages. We will learn what materials can be used to give a more historic feel and look to your work, we will be dying your own page that can be used as black hours as well as looking how gauch and metallic ink can pop on a black dyed page. (This class can be a little messy and will require access to water.)

Supply list:

  • Pergamenta
  • A stapler that can open with staples
  • A board that can accept staples (A small piece of drywall, foam board or watercolor gatorboard) that is larger than the paper you will be dying
  • Waterproof Black Ink (e.g. Noodler's Heart of Darkness)
  • Foam or sponge brush
  • Water
  • A place to let everything dry where the cat will not walk over it
