Stab Binding

Stab-binding is a beautiful and simple way to learn bookbinding. Unlike many binding styles it allows binding of individual (not folded) paper. We will be covering several binding patterns as well as how to create hard bound books with the style of binding. This class is open to begninner binders. 

Supply list:

• Davy/binders/paste board for covers
• Binder's needles (large enough for waxed linen)
• Waxed linen thread
• Chip board or bookbinders board
• PVA glue or paste
• Glue brush
• Awl
• Bone folder
• Paper for pages
• Cardstock for the cover of the softcover book
• Long fiber paper for the cover of the hardcover (such as lotka paper, no oil or wax coated paper, but many decorative papers will work well)
• Metal straight edge ruler
• Box knife
• Cutting mat or other surface you can cut on
• Wax paper

For ages 16 and up and there will be a 30 minute lunch break incoporated into your class.
