Revealing Beautiful Wood Grain: Using Scrap Wood in Printmaking

Wood grain has such a beautiful texture, you can create an interesting effect to your relief printmaking, even if you don’t carve it. This is a great beginning prinrtmaking class with all the instructions you need for your first woodblock print.

If you haven't carved with wood grain while printmaking, it can be a little daunting to begin with, however we will discuss design planning to accommodate the wood grain as well as how to avoid issues. Basic relief and wood carving techniques will be covered in addition to relief printing and editioning. A great skill if you have a friend or family member that is a woodworker, because you can go raid their scrap bin! We will provide all the materials needed for the day.
