Simple Coptic Binding

Coptic books are a fan favorite for their exposed spine, creative stitching options, and lay flat pages. Not only are they beautiful, but they are relatively easy to make and require minimal binding skills. When binding a Coptic book, sewing can range from simple to ornate (with added beads or wrapped thread). This book is a great introductino to sewing signatures, which is an important binding skill. Once finished, the Coptic book's lay-flat pages make this book an ideal companion for many uses. Class participants will learn to fold and sew signatures, glue out and wrap binders board, and take home a finished book. No experience necessary, for ages 18 and up.
