Trash to Treasure Journals

Do you have boxed hanging around waiting to be recycled, notebooks from classes that have extra pages in the back, or tons of junk mail waiting to be sorted? Don't just scrap them, turn them into something unique as well as useful. Grab those grocery bags (plastic or paper), spam mail, egg cartons, cereal boxes, chopsticks, bubble wrap, rubber bands, etc. that keep piling up and learn how to turn thash to treasure. Using items you have around your house we will explore ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle while creating something unique and useful. Please have your recycled treasures picked out before the start of class. Ages 16 and up, 10 and up with adult supervision.

Supplies:

  • Pencil/pen
  • Craft glue
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Emroidery needle
  • Thread (embroidery thread, jute, yarn, etc.) 
  • Recycled treasures (junk mail, subscription boxes, shipping boxes, cards from loved ones, etc.)
